Like many others, 2020 was a rough year. I lost my job at REI due to Covid layoffs and was diagnosed with cancer around the same time. While going through chemo I began to create and work with my hands again, first with felt and fabric, then with paper.
Later, in 2021 my mother began to have health issues and I decided it was time to leave my plant nursery job and stay at home to keep an eye on her (she is part of our household). She has since improved a great deal and was actually beginning to feel a little restless, so I brought her in on the paper biz! It was from her I was given the creative gene so it is only fitting that we are a good team. Together we create, design, make and sell at shows.
Our main focus has been altering paper (dying, painting, folding, etc) and making handbound journals with them. We also make many other fun mixed media paper bundles, die cuts, junk journals, collage materials, upcycled papers, pockets, tags and envelopes for artists, scrapbookers, junk journalers and more.
In 2025 we moved to the Oregon coast and then permanently in McMinnville (heart of Oregon wine country!). Mom is more of an advisor these days but still enjoys occasionally playing with paper. My work has evolved into mostly collage and artist books and is still evolving!
